Welcome to our first batty blog post, sharing updates of our most recent rescues, and giving an insight into what it is like to be a wildlife superhero!

Bristol Bat Rescue has expanded so much in the last two years. We have gone from just three very batty people to up to 14 team members, each playing a very important role in BBR.

Many of you may remember that BBR was once Avon Bat Care run by Kiri Green and Stew Rowden. Both were so passionate about bats that they helped set up BBR with Ashley and registered it as a charity in April this year.

We were joined soon after renaming Avon Bat Care in 2018, by Charley, Nai and Sophie. They, and the other volunteers that joined us after, have been paramount to BBR's success and to the continued mission for saving our bat species! 💪

Without these amazing volunteers we would not have managed to rescue all of the bats that we have this year. We have saved up to 47 bat pups alone, an amazing feat!

Here is a little video shown on ITV of Kiri, before we become an official charity. It has been due to her and Stew's hard work and the love for bats that has allowed this charity to grow. We are so proud of our team at Bristol Bat Rescue. #lookingback
